December–March
Recommended snow season
The complete Hamburg round trip covering all featured cities, Lapland and both ferry crossings is best planned over 12–14 days. A seven-day enquiry is for a shorter, customised selection of the route, not the entire itinerary.
The outward journey travels through Denmark and Sweden before reaching Finnish Lapland by road. The return travels south through Finland to Helsinki, followed by a Baltic ferry crossing to Travemünde and the final transfer to Hamburg.

Ferry 1 · Outward journey
A Baltic crossing between Germany and Denmark on the outward journey.

Ferry 2 · Return journey
An extended Baltic crossing on the return journey, normally around 30 hours. Cabin arrangements and vehicle passage are confirmed in the quotation.
Ferry passenger tickets, vehicle passage and any required cabins are itemised in your personalised quotation. Sailings follow the operators’ current schedules, which we confirm when planning your dates. The final itinerary is tailored to your enquiry.

Build your winter journey around the experiences you love. Every activity below is optional and priced separately.

Optional · Price on request
Meet the huskies and experience a sled journey through Lapland’s winter landscape. Short introductory rides and longer safaris may be available.
Note: Riding distance, duration and participation arrangements are confirmed with the operator.

Optional · Price on request
Explore snowy forest trails on a guided snowmobile adventure—the winter activity sometimes described as a “snow jet ski.”
Note: Driving-licence, age and child-participation requirements apply. Available arrangements depend on the operator.

Optional · Price on request
Visit a reindeer farm, learn about local herding traditions and enjoy a peaceful sleigh ride through a snowy setting.
Note: Sleigh distance and experience duration vary by provider.

Optional · Price on request
Leave the city lights behind on a guided evening excursion in search of the aurora borealis.
Note: Northern-lights sightings are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Timing depends on conditions and the agreed programme.

Optional · Price on request
Join an icebreaker sailing from the Kemi area and experience the frozen sea from a different perspective.
Note: Sailing dates, route, sea-ice conditions and availability must be confirmed.

Optional cruise add-on · Price on request
Experience floating in icy water while wearing a specialist thermal survival suit, where offered as part of the selected icebreaker excursion.
Note: Subject to the operator’s height, suitability, equipment and weather requirements.
Icebreaker cruising and ice floating may be sold together by the provider, so you are selecting interests rather than guaranteed independent tickets. Ice floating always takes place in a specialist thermal survival suit — it is not an ice bath or ordinary swimming.
Your written quotation will show exactly what is included, arranged separately and payable directly. No activity or accommodation is included unless expressly listed.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class service
Your journey travels in Mercedes-Benz V-Class vehicles. The number of vehicles and drivers is matched to your group size and luggage — a group of 7–14 travellers will normally need more than one vehicle.
Seating and luggage capacity are confirmed against the actual vehicle configuration before booking.
Our standard service gives you the flexibility to choose and book your own accommodation. If you would prefer assistance, tell us your preferred hotel standard, room requirements and budget. We can arrange accommodation on request and include it as a separate item in your personalised quotation.
December to March is our recommended season for experiencing Lapland’s snowy landscapes and winter adventures. December brings festive atmosphere, while the later winter months offer their own mix of snow, changing daylight and Arctic scenery. Snow-based activities and icebreaker operations depend on local conditions and supplier schedules.
Please book your trip at least three weeks before your planned arrival. For Christmas, New Year and school holidays, contact us earlier to improve the choice of vehicles, cabins, accommodation and activities.
